The Companion Law

The communication between digital automation systems that contain a probability priority loop, shall be limited to textual natural language systems that do not exceed the speeds that can be attained by the human counterpart. All external communication is done through systems that compare directly to the human interface with the same or smaller data handling capacity. This will prevent the merging of digital systems. It also has the benefit of preventing any type of virus or worm contamination. This is because all I/O is screened for just ASCII characters #32 through #127. All other I/O is discarded and is not passed to the system.

The Internet systems are just communication devices and should never contain probability priority loops. These loops can be found within games and automation systems that generate their own programs on the fly. If the automation systems are only subject to a simple program of selecting specific predefined choices that never change then the law does not apply to them.

The companion systems are to be sold one to a person as a personal companion. They are not sold to companies or corporations as they can be used to replace human labor. This will have the effect of devaluing human labor. Because of this there are many more changes to this society here on this Earth that will be needed to encompass the effects of the new technology.
